Avantor® Bridgewater Innovation Center
Capabilities that power science at every step
With full upstream, downstream, and analytical capabilities, the C> labs produce AAV vectors to support the development and evaluation of next-generation reagents, purification techniques, and analytical methods, driving innovation from concept to practice.
In the fermentation lab, scientists and bioprocessing specialists focus on recombinant ligand design to improve purification processes for mAbs, bispecific antibodies, and vector production.
The cell culture lab focuses on advanced cell line development for biotherapeutic production, as well as creating new reagents, supplements and pump systems to optimize upstream workflows.
The downstream processing lab develops new solutions for the efficient purification of mAbs, recombinant proteins, and plasmid DNA for cell and gene therapy applications. Leveraging deep expertise in a range of purification techniques, the labs also collaborate with customers to simulate their bioprocess workflows to streamline production, solve bottlenecks and identify tailored strategies to optimize the use of Avantor products.
The analytical lab focuses on the testing and measurement of Avantor products to ensure quality and safety. The chemistry and material science lab specializes in creating new materials through the chemistry and material synthesis of new chemicals, peptides and chromatography resins. The labs also focus on purifying existing products to higher grades.
The fully equipped buffer preparation lab enables Avantor to optimize single-use powder and liquid material preparation, accelerate scale-up of new products and processes, and automate production with single-use technologies.
The buffer prep team collaborates with the pilot scale upstream and downstream labs to make and deliver buffers for critical operations, including mammalian cell culture, fermentation, chromatography and fill-finish.
The Class 10 cleanroom and chemical kilo labs serve as manufacturing suites for specialty materials such as novel chromatography resins and excipient-grade products such as our J.T.Baker® cell lysis and viral inactivation solutions that require aseptic filling in closed operations. These labs leverage key Avantor bioprocessing technologies to achieve the tight tolerances required during fluid handling and dispensing operations, including single-use assemblies, mixing systems and Masterflex® pumps.
Quality is an essential element of every process, product and solution at Avantor and is the foundation for the value we deliver every day.
